Frank Peng

Frank has been working in the pulp & paper industry over 30 years with tasks and responsibilities in process and product development, innovation and R&D management, and operation development. The core of Frank´s work has been CTMP process development and its application for different end products, especially consumerboards.

The topic of Frank´s presentation is about quality requirements of CTMP for different applications. The quality requirements of mechanical pulps vary depending on targeted packaging application, designed properties of the final products, and processing methods to convert the paperboard to packaging material. Being a major building stone in modern paperboard, mechanical pulp is one of many components in a board recipe interacting with chemical pulps, functional chemicals, and even coating materials. The property of mechanical pulps should therefore be studied and developed for specific applications to offer optimal performance and cost efficiency.
